Bars March is a month-long celebration of bar culture, featuring great venues and drinks. We raise money for animal welfare charities by encouraging everyone to head out on the town throughout March to enjoy our Participating Venues responsibly. Our campaign also promotes mindful, responsible and sociable enjoyment of great drinks. Our mission: good times for a good cause.
Throughout March, our Participating Venues add a Bars March drink of their choice to their menus and donate a percentage of the sales to our charities. We encourage our Marchers to head out to the venues and post up a storm on social media while they 'have a drink, save a dog.'
Over the years, our mix of generous supporters has included venues of all shapes and sizes, from larger groups such as Merivale to craft-focused independents like Lobo Plantation, The Barber Shop and Tokyo Bird. Whether you’re a bustling suburban pub or a speciality small bar, a café or a club, we’d love you on board and we’ll promote your participation across all our platforms and media (Bars March boss Amy Cooper is a journo/columnist for Good Food). Our celebrity ambassadors include Jamie Durie, TV vet Dr Katrina Warren, and an army of ‘Marchers’ who love bars, doggos and good drinks.
Bars March supports Animal Welfare League NSW and, in Victoria, Save a Dog Scheme (SADS). Both these amazing organisations have been caring for surrendered, neglected and abandoned animals for decades.
